Winter out, Summer in please, we know all about winter rumblings. But here’s an idea for those of you most organised and fashion focused. Why not delve into your dressing rooms and see if last years winter coat will make it to A/W2014. Is it too shabby to be chic? Can you save your duffle from the dump? Why not try a spot of garment upcycling to avoid recyclying? Now is the time as we flit about in chiffon and silk, to let The Zip Yard do their magic on your winter wear.
Take this well worn Zara coat from last year. Beautiful when bought and so on trend with the gingham movement that fluttered by before we could say check mate. We felt it needed a bit of bounce to carry it through for another wintertide.
Using some left over leather we created new cuffs, collar & belt. We removed the shoulder straps and the pocket flaps and gave it a simpler cleaner feel. We are delighted its looking so fresh and fabulous and dare we say timeless? Not to mention its now a couture part of our capsule collection. We even sent it off to the dry cleaners to ensure its ready to go when the time comes. Now all we have to do is get on and enjoy the Summer X
