Tit for That..

Tit for that, we know it’s a little shocking but read on for enlightenment.

Guess what ladies, Big Busts are Back ! Well that’s what  the fashion powers that be are saying anyway.  Fear not, we at The Zip Yard know exactly how to incorporate these into the curvy gals wardrobe with some well placed alterations . So, for all you lucky ladies with racks to die for,  its time to rejoice. Time to embrace those bazookas. Whether you feel blessed or cursed by your bountiful bosom, the key to looking good and feeling confident is dressing properly for your shape and not  covering those curves. As a busty bird myself,  I would like to share the pearls of my wisdom. After years of struggling with my babies, I eventually learned how to dress for my body type.  Garment Alterations are the key to achieving that perfect fit. Gone are the days of trying to hide underneath clothes(and managing to look two sizes bigger). Now its all about emphasising your fine assets. Using  my god given assets to accentuate my figure took me a while to get my head around but now that i’m doing it, i have never felt sexier & more confident.

Ok so my absolute number one tip? Go for a V or scoop neckline. This immediately lengthens  the distance between the neck & the bust creating a narrower decolletage. Its not always easy to find a low neck dress in the current pattern or fabric that you so desperately dream of.  Using our remodeling and alterations service at The Zip yard makes it easier than you think.  Why not alter a high neck dress into a V or heart shape neckline?  Its an inexpensive way to totally transform a dress. Simply restyle it. The same goes with sweaters or blouses.

My next pointer is always go for a wider strap on a dress or blouse. Spaghetti straps may look good on skinny mini models but they are not the pal of big boobed gal.   Try making  straps 1 or 2 inches thick on summer dresses.  This has the added advantage of concealing the straps of any functional braziers lurking beneath. You can also add snap fasteners & loops under those straps so any Over The Shoulder boulder holders are in perfect place.

Shoulders are super important for dressing a bigger bust. You want to draw the eye above the bust line. A really effective way to do this is to go for a puffed sleeve or pleated shoulder on a dress or blouse, a look that can be easily recreated by a good tailor or dressmaker. And remember, shoulder pads are also good for creating balance.

Tit tape is a must for the cleavage conscious chicas out there, it simply keeps flimsy fabrics in place and stops them from releasing your puppies to the public. . You can pick this up in any Zip Yard store.

Lastly, avoid avoid avoid anything too loose or flowy. It  just adds excess material to the bustline and has result of making you look like a whale. Wear clothes that are tailored and fitted to create a slim streamlined figure. Nip in the waist & skim the hips, but always embrace those tits!
